Catherine Monahon is a multi-media artist interested in psychology, expressive arts therapy, public health and education. She focuses on the intersection between art and health, whether the artistic process and product serves as personal therapy or as a commentary on the possibilities around health and unhealth in our society. She uses watercolor, clay, text, pen & ink to work on various projects.
Monahon graduated from Connecticut College in 2012 with a B.A. in Studio Art and American Studies. Since then she has worked in communications, fine art, and education. She is currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area were she teaches at a children's ceramics studio and work as a studio assistant for Elizabeth Jameson, an artist who creates art from her own brain scans.
